Well we didn't get in to The Big Bang Theory yesterday. Our tickets were standby so we knew that we should get there early. We left the house around noon and got up to LA around 2.00 and there was already a line! (show is at 6:30) So we sat in line and the time actually went by quickly but when they were about to check us in they said that there were more Standby ticket holders than guaranteed ticket holders which isn't a good sign. Technically they give the "guaranteed" ticket holders up until an hour before show time to check in and then they will take standby. But then of course there are the VIPs who waltz in at the last minute and the poor audience coordinators have to scramble to get everyone in. (learned a good tip though....there are usually more VIPs towards the end of the taping season)

So they started taking Stanby people in (we were #30 and#31) and they stopped the line about 15 people infront of us. So we waited some more while MORE VIP people kept showing up. Ugh. Finally they said they could take some more Standby so we all stood up with our tickets in hand and getting a little excited at this point because it looked like we had made it. Nope! They stopped the line right at ME! So we waited again while MORE VIPs showed up. The audience coordinator counted 10 people back from me and said that they would hold our group as we may have a chance to go in but then told the other 50 or more people that she was sorry but they wouldn't be getting in. I felt really bad for all those people. They looked really dissapointed.

So we waited some more chit chatting with the couple right behind us in line who were a nice Australian couple here on their Honeymoon. They said that The Big Bang Theory is HUGE in Australia so they were really hoping to get in. It was almost showtime and the audience coordinator walked over to me and said that she can only take the two of us and that was it. So my husband jumps up off the bench and tells her to let the couple from Australia have our tickets. We can come back anytime and they can't. I just LOVE this man! Heart of Gold. Funny...I had a gut feeling that this was going to happen and was thinking the same thing he was. The couple was so happy and she was almost crying. I was almost crying too. She hugged us and said that this was the best Wedding Gift! We started to walk away and the audience coordinator called us over and they said that they were really surprised and impressed by what we did that they would get us in for sure to another taping of Big Bang.

My husband and I drove to Universal CityWalk and had a nice dinner and on the drive home saw Disneyland's fireworks. Perfect timing. So although we didn't get into the show it turned out to be a really great day.

I joined Weight Watchers about 6 weeks ago and I am LOVING it! I have finally found something that works for me. YAY!!!! I had my first child 21 years ago, my second, 20 years ago, and my baby just turned 17! I think it's about time to lose MY BABY WEIGHT! I have lost 14 pounds since February 9th and I have about 30 more pounds to go until I reach my goal. My husband and 2 best friends are doing it as well so that's a HUGE advantage having such great support.

Weight Watchers works for me because I don't really feel like i am on a "diet". I can basically eat all the foods that I like. It's all about portion control, choices, and tracking. There are online tools and phone apps that are awesome! I chose to attend meetings AND use the online tools/phone app. My phone is great for tracking because it's always with me. As soon as I put something in my mouth, I track it. It's fast and simple and then I don't have to worry about forgetting to write something down. It does all the calculations for me and I know exactly how many points I have left for the day so I can plan on looking forward to either my glass of wine or my WW ice cream bar for dessert. I don't feel deprived at all.

My goal is to look like my "Talk Show Ho" Avitar! But maybe not the yellow hair :)

Went to see Dr. Phil yesterday. Glad we got a good show topic...Male Escorts. His guests were 2 male escorts and the creator of the website and company that they work for www.cowboys4angels.com , and a woman who uses escort services and who went out on a "date" with one of the escorts. They showed clips of their date on the show. It was pretty interesting. And the guys were HOT! My friend and I were seated in the front row in direct shot of them. (better than looking right at Dr.Phil!) Ha! But there were some akward moments because the only place they could look other than at Dr. Phil was at us!(and we are both married) I'm sure my face was bright red the entire time. ha ha.
Too bad the audience didn't receive gift certificates to their service! I'm sure many of the audience members would have really liked that!

I finally went to a taping of The Price is Right. And to be honest, I was expecting it to be totally "cheesy" but it wasn't! It was so much fun! Infact, it has now become one of my favorite shows! (to attend)

It is a LONG day so be prepared. You are there for almost 6 hours. They have a snack bar and food that you can order from their kitchen. They also have what I call a "crack cart" that they bring around to you with Red Bull, Rockstars, 5 hour energy, candy, soda, etc.

When you first check in they will give you paperwork to fill out as well as your Name tag and your number. You are allowed to have cell phones as this point but NO photography while you are on the lot. They then take your picture with a Price is Right background of your choice which you can purchase for $20.00. As you move around the corner closer to the studio, they will ask if you want to order food for $10.00 and they have several different choices. The food is actually pretty good and I do suggest eating because it's a LONG day.

Next comes the interviews. They take a group of 12 people at a time and you stand up in line in front of the producer who will ask you a few questions while his assitant takes notes. This is your time to shine! Turn it on and act crazy. No one cares and you probably won't see these people again anyway so GO FOR IT!

After interviews, you go around another corner of the studio and this where they ask you to check your cell phones and they will give you a claim ticket so you can pick up your phone after the taping is over. Here you can sit down and eat your lunch when they deliver it to you and watch an episode of The Price is Right. And this is also the LAST bathroom call before entering the Studio.

You wait a long time outside but as soon as they load you into the Studio it's ON! It's exciting! People are jumping and yelling and dancing. They start the show quickly and before you know it, they (hopefully) will be calling your name to "Come on down!" When he announces the names they also have your name on a big cue card which is great because it's so loud in there.

In between takes, Drew interacts with the audience quite a bit. He likes to read people's shirts and ask where people are from. There is so much energy in that place that when it was all over we were pooped! It's definately a great work out!

The shows air about a month later and they will give you the airdate of your show. Even if you don't get picked it's still a lot of fun. I highly suggest going to this show. Especially with a group or for someone's birthday or other special occasion.   

So excited! My BFF arrives on Monday night and then we will drive up to LA on Tuesday to see ELLEN!  She has never been to any taping and is super excited. I know she's gonna love it and be hooked like me! haha
 The next day we are going to The Price is Right! I had matching shirts made for the show and she bought us both a pair of black sparkly Toms. I really hope they pick one of us to be on the show. We have already agreed that we will split our winnings with each other if one of us gets picked.
I hope Monday gets here quickly!!!!
